Fowler's Toad (Bufo fowleri)

  • 5.1 to 7.5 cm
  • Only found on the north shore of Lake Erie in Ontario
  • Call is a nasal "Waaah," like a baby crying
  • Calling begins in mid-spring
  • Usually three or more "warts" per dark spot on body
  • White belly not covered in dark spots
  • Breeds in open ponds along the lakeshore
