Red-legged Frog (Rana aurora)

Red legged frog
  • 4.4 to 13.1 cm
  • Only found in southwestern B.C.
  • Call is a very faint and guttural "uh" and often given underwater
  • Calling begins in early spring
  • Grey or reddish with dark flecks
  • Adults have red on the underside of the legs and belly
  • Breeds in permanent wetlands and streams
