| The Nature Nation E-Newsletter
Nature Canada has chosen to partner with White Swan in recognition of the steps it has taken to adopt environmentally friendly manufacturing practices, and to encourage other industry leaders to adopt greener ways of operating. Nature Canada recommends that consumers consider the following things when shopping for paper products:
The following White Swan products, bearing Nature Canada’s logo, meet these environmentally friendly criteria: White Swan Napkins, Bathroom Tissue, Paper Towel and Facial Tissue products. You can find these products on retail, grocery and drug store shelves nationally. Where Does White Swan's Pulp Come From? None of White Swan's pulp comes from ancient boreal forests. White Swan products manufactured in their Eastern Mills use 100% recycled fibre, of which 80% comes from post-consumer material. Approximately 80% of their entire White Swan volume is manufactured in these Eastern Mills. Poly that is used for White Swan Bathroom Tissue, Paper Towels and Napkins, is Recyclable, where community programs exist and contains a minimum of 10% Post Industrial Material. White Swan has received EcoLogo certification for all facial tissue, bathroom tissue, napkins and paper towels manufactured in their Eastern Mills. The EcoLogo program is a stringent, multi-attribute system which certifies the product as being Environmentally Friendly. The balance (20%) of White Swan products are manufactured in their Western Mills, which uses a combination of Groundwood pulp (about 50%) and Chemical pulp (50%). Groundwood pulp is produced from supervised, renewable tree farms using sustainable forestry management techniques. The chemical pulp for White Swan does not come from the Boreal Forest. It comes from preferred vendors who follow sustainable forestry practices. About White Swan White Swan is a proud supporter of Nature Canada.
