Rhonda Sutherland from Newbury, Ontario took this photo of a water lily in her backyard pond.

Not only are these floating aquatic plants beautiful, they also smell good!

Interesting water lily facts:

  • Water lilies were once used in ancient Egyptian art
  • Water lilies were a common appearance in Monet's paintings
  • Water lilies open up for only a few hours a day to soak up the sun
